On August 24, a Ukrainian Charity Dinner was held in Basel, during which €17,428 was raised to support children affected by the war in Ukraine. The event brought together chefs, ambassadors of Ukrainian gastronomy, and guests who joined an important mission — helping children restore their physical health and psychological resilience.
A portion of the funds raised — UAH 650,000 — was allocated to the purchase of an ultrasound diagnostic system for the Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Children’s Hospital. The new equipment enables precise eye examinations in children, which is especially critical for those affected by mine-blast injuries. Located in a frontline region, the hospital frequently treats such cases, and modern diagnostic tools play a vital role in preserving children’s vision and overall health.
The remaining funds were directed to support the work of psychologists in our SviTY centers in Lviv, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zhytomyr. These specialists provide psychological support to teenagers who have experienced stress and trauma due to the war, helping them restore emotional balance, build inner resilience, and develop social skills. In this way, the support provided during the dinner contributes simultaneously to both physical and mental recovery — combining medical assistance with psychosocial care.
