The First SviTY Camp Session in the Carpathians

10.07.2026

From June 29 to July 7, 25 Teenagers from Lviv’s “SviTY” Space Headed to the Carpathians. This was the first session of our recovery camp — a special time dedicated to emotional relief, finding inner strength, and safe communication.

We created this space with one main goal: to give children a chance to catch their breath, feel cared for, and realize they are not alone. The results upon returning home speak for themselves. Behind every single number in our summary are real children’s smiles, new friendships, and noticeable relief.

Emotional Recovery and Peace of Mind

The main result for us is that 92.3% of teenagers noted an overall improvement in their emotional state after the camp. Among them, 65.4% shared that they felt “better,” and 26.9% felt “much better.”

Support works wonders when surrounded by people you can truly trust. Thanks to an atmosphere of acceptance and the guidance of mentors, the number of teens who frequently felt stressed dropped by more than three times—from 12% at the start of camp to 3.8% upon completion.

At the same time, the feeling of complete safety among the children more than doubled: from 20% to 42.3%.

Interaction and Inner Confidence

The camp became a place where teenagers could open up, connect with peers, and believe in their own strength. 30.8% of participants shared that communicating with others became significantly easier, while 26.9% felt a boost in self-confidence. They learned to interact, understand one another, and simply be themselves without fear of judgment.

In the Children’s Own Words

Here are just a few quotes from our participants that warm the hearts of our entire team: “I felt supported because there was always someone nearby I could trust”, “I feel less shy about talking about my emotions”, “I can understand myself and others better, communicate without words, and I know that I’m cool.”

These words are the best proof that true change happens when there is support, trust, and a safe space around. Children return home stronger, calmer, and more open to the world.

Thank you to everyone who supports the “SviTY” program. Together, we help children find light even in the most challenging times.
